The season for Antarctica is from November through March and the season for the Arctic (North Pole, etc) is from June through August.

Few places have stirred the hearts and minds of explorers more than the North Pole. At the turn of the last century, voyages of discovery and adventure by sled, balloon, airship and ship set off for the top of the world ­ and failed. It was not until 1926 that the pole was seen for the first time and not until 1948 that anyone actually stood there.

This is perhaps the most amazing location on our entire planet. There are no four corners of the World there: the South is all around you and any wind is southern. Over this “Top of the World” stars never rise or set together with the Earth’s rotation. The Polar Star, the beacon of all travelers in the Northern Hemisphere, is invariably in its zenith.

ABOUT US
Captain Ben Garrett is a Veteran Navigator, Boat Builder, Electronic Engineer & Inventor from California and director of Victory Adventure Expeditions. He almost died in 1977 from a decompression accident (Bends), while diving for lobster in Easter Island, Chile. This left him using a cane, but he continued sailing another 29 years and retired in 2006.

He had a dream… to help others experience the wonders of the Islands of Southern Chile, the cold oceans,Tierra Del Fuego, Cape Horn, and Antarctica.

In 1986, Ben took a big step in realizing his dream — the launching of the Tall Ship S/V VICTORY…

The S/V VICTORY was launched on March 7 in Puerto Montt, Chile after 3 years of construction and Victory Adventure Expeditions was founded. Shortly afterwards, Captain Ben met his wife, Monica in Puerto Montt at the Foursquare church.

Since that time the yacht S/V VICTORY has done tourism in such places as Arica, Valparaiso, Puerto Montt, Tierra del Fuego, and Cape Horn, Chile, sailing from one end of Chile’s 2,600 mile coastline to the other.

The Garretts have navigated the region of Tierra Del Fuego since January 10, 1991 after arriving there at Puerto Williams for a documentary about Darwin’s voyage with the VICTORY as the Star.

After a few years doing tourism in the area, Capt. Ben, finished realizing his dream. Now he created the Online Agency in which you are connected right now. New destinations were offered, including, Antarctica, the Arctic, Northern Russia islands, and the North and South Pole. Since 1995 he has been given years of successful Internet marketing experience.

Ben and his Chilean wife, Monica, and their daughters, Grace, Vicky (Victoria) and Amy, live in their new house they built recently in Puerto Williams with a view of the Beagle Channel and Tierra Del Fuego Island.

It is the World’s most Southern town, is “crime free”* and has a population of about 2200 persons.

The Tallship S/Y VICTORY has a new owner, but is still based in picturesque Puerto Williams in the Tierra Del Fuego section of Chile among the unspoiled beauty of “The Uttermost Part Of The Earth.”

Ben & Monica Garrett are active with various public benefit programs in Puerto Williams including the founding of a branch of Alcoholics Anonymous; the Ukika Yagan Indian Church; and they are the providers of Internet to the population of Puerto Williams for educational purposes, through Meraki Wifi.

They have established, an online travel agency, a Bed and Breakfast for 13 passengers, a Mini Market and a Cyber Cafe which cater to tourists passing through Puerto Williams. (They will have a fast food restaurant and bakery opening in October).
