Where to find us
The Bahrain Yacht Club is located in Sitra, on the Central Eastern coastline of the island. We are easily accessible via the Sitra Causeway from the north, and the Majalis Al Ta’Woon Highway if you’re coming from the south. Exit the highway at the traffic lights adjacent to the Ford car dealership. Turn right at the small roundabout and head south through three traffic lights and make a right turn at the large warehouse on your right. Follow the road 400m to the BYC.

Established over 50 years ago and situated in Sitra since 1977, the Bahrain Yacht Club today is host to the many people who share a common passion for the varied forms of sailing and water sports. Whether you are a seasoned sea dog,or just keen to get your feet wet, we offer a great range of training facilitiesand services to meet your requirements. Membership is available to all, with family and individual memberships on request, and we welcome visitors and members of all yacht clubs.
Sailing at the Bahrain Yacht Club is made up of two aspects that are closely linked. The first is our full social cruising programme, the second is our exciting racing programme. Many members participate actively in both. For nine months of the year the racing programme is highly active, with sailors battling it out in two major regattas and up to eighteen races a year across the Autumn, Winter and Spring.
Welcome aboard to out new GM – Willem Peach is from South Africa and has over 31 years of work experience in a wide range of fields. His working career started in the military, and then after completing a Masters Degree in Business and Administration, he went into banking. However, Willem’s passion is sailing and the outdoors, and part of his career was spent delivering yachts from South Africa to around Europe as a qualified RYA Yacht Master Offshore, with commercial endorsement. With all his skills, competencies and experience, we are looking forward to Willem’s contributions to build and develop our Club. We will soon be holding a Members’ Reception, which will give Willem the opportunity to introduce himself to members and listen to your suggestions – in the meantime, please drop by and introduce yourself to Willem, and welcome him to Bahrain!
