Flying Fish specialises in professional Yachtmaster and crew training – and if you are looking for work we help you find a job too. We run professional crew and skipper training at two of the world’s best sailing locations: Cowes, UK, and Sydney, Australia. With Flying Fish you learn fast and enjoy the experience – and our Yachtmaster pass rate is 96%.
We also offer short RYA recreational sailing courses, suitable for anyone from beginner to experienced sailor. Learn to sail on a Start Yachting weekend or join an improver’s course to take you to the next stage: Competent Crew, Day Skipper Shorebased Theory and Day Skipper Practical. If you’re ready for an advanced course, we’ll take you to Coastal Skipper, Yachtmaster Coastal or Yachtmaster Offshore.
Professional crew need STCW95 certificates. We have a range of commercial programmes which are STCW-compliant and validated by the UK’s Maritime and Coastguard Agency ranging from one day safety courses to six weeks residential Pro Crew Training.
We go racing too. You can join us to train and race as an individual crew member. Our calendar of events in Europe and Australia includes the Fastnet, Cowes Week, Cork Week, the Sydney Hobart, Hamilton Island Race Week and the Pittwater and Coffs Harbour Series.
Charter your own yacht from Flying Fish in Sydney, Australia, and the Solent, UK. Skippered charter is available for racing and corporate entertaining; bareboat or skippered for a cruising weekend, family holiday or sailing adventure with friends.
