Situated on the River Medway in Kent, Chatham Maritime Marina is at the heart of a multi-million pound leisure and retail development that’s set to become a major waterfront attraction. Currently the marina has 310 berths and is close to a factory outlet shopping complex.

In addition there is a multiscreen cinema, Dickensian theme park and numerous restaurants and bars that provide a picturesque watering hole. There’s also a local convenience store stocking essential items, with various other facilities planned.

The marina provides the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area. The Medway Estuary offers excellent cruising in the lower reaches, with many secluded anchorages, perfect for lazy lunch stops.

The river is navigable for around 13 miles from its mouth at Sheerness to Rochester. For boats drawing no more than two metres, the possibilities are even greater. Further up, past Allington Lock, the river meanders through delightful countryside to Maidstone and Tonbridge. From the Medway itself lies the wider cruising area of the East Coast and its rivers, while Holland is just 80 miles away.

Adjacent to the marina is the historic Chatham dockyard, while the attractions of Chatham, Gillingham and Rochester are only minutes away. Access is excellent, with direct road links to the M2 and Central London just 40 minutes away by rail.

Boatyard Facilities

As well as providing first-class berthing and marina services, Chatham Maritime Marina has a boatyard which offers excellent facilities for boat owners wanting to carry out boat repairs or maintenance work. There is storage ashore for over 100 boats along with a 16 ton crane, a hydraulic boat mover and yacht cradles for your convenience. There is also a purpose-built lifting dock, accessible at all states of tide, and a dedicated DIY area.

To complement these facilities, there is a professional, highly qualified team on hand at the yard to carry out any lifting. Both petrol and diesel are available, enabling you to make the most of your cruising rather than making special journeys for fuel.

* Some restrictions may apply to vessels exceeding 1.5m draft. Please contact the Marina Office for further details.
