Rottnest Island Snorkelling Tours

Come onboard Capella and discover the amazing snorkeling Rottnest has to offer. Explore natural underwater landscapes, and historical shipwrecks alongside hundreds of fish in the crystal clear waters surrounding the island without the hassle and crowds of the beach. Although Rottnest boasts some excellent beach snorkeling many of her most amazing secrets lay just offshore only reachable by Capellas shallow draft.

With a lowerable forward boarding ladder and rear transom, getting in and out of the ocean is a breeze. We also have a high speed safety boat in the water with you for when you feel like climbing back onboard and for those that would like to observe any wildlife from the surface. All of Capellas crew are highly experienced divemasters and will ensure you feel safe and comfortable in the water. 2 hot and cold showers on the rear deck provide a quick rinse to get the salt off after your snorkel. Snorkeling equipment is provided free of charge onboard, and a scrumptious morning tea is served on our sail back into Thompson Bay.

On our snorkel trips we regularly encounter bottlenose dolphins, eagle rays, many species of fish and coral, New Zealand Fur Seals and the very playful Australian Sea Lions along with many other island inhabitants.

Rottnest Island Eco Adventure / Whale Watching Cruise

Come onboard Capella – Rottnest’s very own sailing catamaran. Perfect for either a leisurely afternoon or an exhilarating sailing experience. You are welcome to do as much or as little as you want as we sail around to a secluded bay stopping to discover wildlife on the way. From September- November Rottnest is visited by over 20,000 Humpback Whales (mainly mothers and calves) as they head south, back to the Southern Ocean to feed over the summer months. These mother Humpbacks take time out to allow their babies to grow strong in the waters surrounding Rottnest before hitting the chillier southern temperatures allowing spectators an amazing opportunity to get up close to these gentle giants and observe their often playful, always entertaining behaviour.

We will drop anchor at a sheltered beach or bay for a refreshing swim where you are most welcome to go for a paddle on our glass bottom kayaks or stand-up paddle board before dropping our cargo net off the stern of Capella where you are welcome to recline and be dragged gently along in the water whilst Capella sails slowly back towards Thompson Bay. Kids of all ages (even up to 80 years old) love our cargo net. You are welcome got get involved with hoisting the sails or simply recline in the forward trampolines and listen to the sound of the water rush by beneath us.

Enjoy some afternoon tea and a cuppa (or an alcoholic beverage ) as we head back around to Thompson Bay. We often encounter pods of playful Dolphins, Australia Sea Lions, Ospreys and other aquatic wildlife on our Eco Sails.

Shark Bay

Shark Bay is a massive and remote area with over 1500 kilometres of coastline, numerous islands and large tracts of unpopulated land spread over 2 huge peninsulas.
