BAREBOAT CATAMARANS
What is Required to charter a Bareboat Catamaran?
In order to bareboat charter you must have a reasonable amount of sailing experience on similar sized boats. You will be asked to fill out a sailing resume. Sailing School Certificates are helpful, but hands-on experience is more important. If there is any question about your skills during your briefing a captain will go out with you for a while to determine your bareboat ability and comfort level.
Sailing your own yacht in the British Virgin Islands or any of our other locations throughout the Caribbean, is like no other vacation. So many who have experienced this wonderful trip have come back time and again. You get up when you want to, sail where you want to, swim, dive, snorkel, eat, sleep, drink, beach comb, you name it, when and where you want to.
The weather changes very little from one season to the next, always around the 80’s during the day. The evenings usually cool down with a nice breeze, an occasional shower in the 70’s. The water is always warm and crystal clear.
Why catamarans?
The demand for catamarans has increased over the last few years for good reason. They are wonderful boats for families and friends. They offer so much more space, comfort and privacy. The stability is appreciated by everyone, especially those prone to seasickness. And for those who think they are giving up some of the thrill of putting the rail to the wave, the speed of a catamaran should give you some excitement. The shallow draft allows you access to many private beaches and coves other boats cannot enjoy.
Why book your charter using a company listed in our boat directory?
Because we have the knowledge and experience you can depend on. We have vetted catamaran companies in different charter fleets in Tortola over the last 9 years, so we have first-hand experience. We have visited all the charter bases in the area and reviewed their boats. We know who takes good care of their boats and their customers. Those are the only ones we recommend to you. And we sail there several times each year so we know what is going on, how to get there, and what to expect when you arrive.
We save you all the effort in shopping around. We can give you a list of all the cats that meet your needs, their costs and availability. And since we are independent we will give you an honest and objective review of boats and companies.
We can help you with water sports equipment rentals (kayak, windsurfer, scuba diving gear and tanks), provisioning, captain for a day or two, sleeping aboard the boat before your charter and hotels before or after your charter.
A word about our fleet of catamarans:
We feature bareboat catamarans from 35 to 80 and bigger feet in length with cabins for groups of 2 to 12 charter guests. These bareboats are based in the British Virgin Islands, St. Martin, St. Vincent and Belize Grenada, Canouan, the Grenadines, the Abacos, the Florida Keys, Guadeloupe, and Antigua. If we don’t have the catamaran you want to charter listed here we’ll find it for you.
CREWED CATAMARANS
A crewed charter aboard a large cruising catamaran is a vacation like you have never experienced before. And we think you will want to do it again and again. Most people do.
Crewed Charters are all-inclusive:
- Your weekly charter rate includes:
- A professionally licensed captain
- A trained chef/hostess
- All meals catered to your tastes
- All beverages of choice, including open bar*
- *(open bar is not included on some boats in the “down island” areas in the Grenadines)
- A variety of water sports toys & instruction
- Nicely appointed cabins and facilities
- Spacious bimini covered cockpits
From the moment you are welcomed aboard your crewed yacht you will appreciate the personal service and commitment toward making this trip everything it can be. The captain will be your guide. You make the choices for secluded anchorages, walking deserted beaches, hammock naps under palm trees, limbo parties and dancing in the sand or falling asleep under the stars. Your chef will amaze you with what she can prepare in a galley. She will ask for your preferences in foods and beverages, and will cater the entire week’s presentations to your tastes.
It’s been called “Paradise”, “Once in a Lifetime Experience”, “Dream Vacation”. Those words are all true when you take a fully crewed charter on a privately owned yacht in the Caribbean. We know because we did it. Then we went back and did it again to see if it really was that wonderful. And it was! Those two weeks were the best vacation weeks we had ever experienced, and they changed our lives. Now we have a charter boat in the business and we consider the islands our second home.
Companies have personally selected each boat and crew that we offer here, based on the wonderful personality of the crew, their efforts in maintaining an excellent yacht, and their willingness to go the extra mile for your enjoyment and satisfaction. We know they will provide you with a truly memorable vacation. This could be your once in a lifetime cruise or the beginning of a wonderful annual event.
